Research overview
The estrogen-related receptors are constitutively active nuclear receptors with no known endogenous ligand. They control transcriptional programmes for mitochondrial biogenesis, fatty-acid oxidation and oxidative phosphorylation, often working with the coactivator PGC-1α. SLU-PP-332 was developed at Saint Louis University as a pan-ERR agonist with highest potency at ERRα [1].
In 2023, Billon and colleagues characterised the compound in cell-based reporter assays and in mice, showing ERRα-dependent induction of oxidative-metabolism genes in skeletal muscle [1]. A follow-up study in 2024 examined the compound in mouse models of metabolic dysregulation [2]. Another 2024 study in Circulation used new pan-ERR agonists to study cardiac fatty-acid metabolism and mitochondrial function in mouse heart-failure models [3].
In vitro, SLU-PP-332 is used as a reference ERR agonist in luciferase reporter and target-gene expression assays, in mitochondrial respiration studies and as a comparator for newer ERR ligands.

Storage and handling
SLU-PP-332 ships as a lyophilized (freeze-dried) solid. Dry material is far more stable than material in solution, so keep it in its dry, sealed state until you need it.
